Why? What? Who?
Tell me: Why of all things Just Another Amateur Photography Site (JAAPS)?
The reason is simply that I wanted a place where I can show selected photos in my own way. I didn’t like the severely limited options of the usual platforms like 500px, Instagram, Flickr, Adobe Stock, etc. In addition, for reasons of data protection, I didn’t want any further data to be stored outside of Germany. So I stayed with a large german internet hosting service provider.
Makes sense. But what kind of photos do you take?
The classics are my favorites: Landscapes, nature, flowers, plants, city panoramas, urban scenes – mostly in color, more and more often also in black and white. Sometimes also macrophotography, Portraits only on request.
Mhm, ok. And who are you?
I’m just a guy from Mainz in Germany, who enjoys photography, but has in parallel with a full time job too little time. Otherwise, I’m a big fan of the football club 1. FSV Mainz 05, which is reflected in my logo. In real life, I work as an IT professional.
