Street photography workshop in Frankfurt

Workshop

The photos were taken as part of a street photography workshop. The workshop took place in Frankfurt am Main, Germany and was led by 2 trainers, Nina und Manuel, from fotokreativ. We started in Frankfurt’s Ostend at the Hafenpark near the European Central Bank (ECB).

Hafenpark

The extensive Hafenpark (harbor park) is located in the middle of the city, directly on the Main embankment promenade. It offers a wide range of sports and is a popular meeting place for the skater scene and other sports enthusiasts, especially in the evenings and on weekends.

The Skatepark

The main attraction of the harbor park is definitely the skate and BMX facility. It was a long-cherished wish of the skater scene, which also actively participated in the planning. The “Concrete Jungle Skatepark” now offers street and bowl areas on a professional level.

Memorial at the Frankfurt Grossmarkthalle

The Memorial at the Frankfurt Grossmarkthalle (German: Erinnerungsstätte an der Frankfurter Großmarkthalle) commemorates the deportation of Jews from Frankfurt am Main in Nazi Germany during the Holocaust. From 1941 to 1945, the Gestapo used the cellar of the Grossmarkthalle as a gathering place for the deportation of Jews from the city and the Rhine-Main area. The traditions of these events are permanently inscribed as quotations on the floor and walls, in the basement of the former Grossmarkthalle and in the outside areas of the European Central Bank.

Frankfurt Ostend

Our way led us from the memorial to the Frankfurt Ostend, past the Frankfurt Ost underground station. Again, there were exciting prospects, both on the surface and underground.
